The Fine Print

So now for the boring bit- the terms and conditions! They might be dull but they are super important for any business. Whether you choose to read them or not, it's good to know they're there should you ever need them.


  • All our happy mail is sent via Royal Mail (unless otherwise stated or arranged).

  • All UK orders are sent by 1st Class with the Royal Mail (unless otherwise stated or arranged) which typically arrives in 1-2 working days excluding peak seasons such as Christmas, Black Friday, etc.

  • Orders over the value of £100 will be charged a Special Delivery rate to ensure that they are delivered quickly, safely and with tracking to reduce the likelihood of loss or damage.

  • All International orders are sent by Tracked & Signed with the Royal Mail (unless otherwise stated or arranged).

  • We cannot be held accountable for any delays, damage or loss on the part of our courier but we will always work with you to find a solution. If you are unhappy with the service you have received from the courier we always recommend that you contact them to express this. 

  • We are not responsible for errors made by the customer during the checkout process such as incorrect or old addresses being used. It is the customers responsibility to conect us as soon as possible should they note any errors with their order details.

  • If an item has been lost or damaged we will file a claim with the Royal Mail or courier. In the event that an item has been deemed 'lost' we will file a claim with the Royal Mail or courier but this can be only be done after a period of time has passed subject to the couriers own terms and conditions.

  • The buyer is responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. We are not responsible for delays due to customs.

  • Our processing times may vary depending on a number of factors including the product type, orders outstanding, seasonal delays, etc. All our Ready to Ship items will be sent within 2-3 working days unless otherwise stated. Made to Order pieces usually take 2-3 weeks turnaround time but can vary due to the factors listed above. Please contact us for up to date turnaround times.

Returns & Exchanges-

  • We accept order cancellations within 24 hours of purchase. Any cancellations that are attempted after this time may not be processed depending on the order in question, e.g: if it is a personalised piece that cannot be resold, supplies have been ordered, etc.

  • We do not accept returns or exchanges but please contact us if there are any issues with your order or you are not satisfied with your purchase. We will  always work with you to find a solution and may request photo evidence of the issues in question in order to help us support you. If you have any issues please contact us-

Product Care-

  • As with all handmade items, our hoops and other products should be handled with care and not treated as toys especially with children.

  • We recommend displaying your hoop against a background and not allowing light to flow through it as this will cause the fabric to become transparent in the light and therefore show the thread behind it.

  • Please do not place your hoop in direct sunlight as this could distort the colurs of the fabric and thread.

  • Please do not rest other items on your hoop as this could damage the tension of the fabric.

  • Should your hoop become dusty you can very gently clear it with a dry cloth or a lint roller.

  • We use Pilot Friction Ball pens on the majority of our hoops which allows us to transfer the design to fabric. These marks can be removed with heat but sometimes in cold temperatures these lines or marks can reappear. In this event please gently heat the fabric area with a hair dryer and they should disappear again.

  • Our t-shirts are suitable for machine wash and have been tried and tested by us. We recommend washing them at 30 degrees or hand wash.

  • We recommend that our mugs are hand washed to avoid any of the design becoming damaged or removed.

Privacy Policy-

  • All data held by us in relation to you is specific only to your order or contact with us. This information is only what you have provided such as full name, email, phone number, address, etc and will be held solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order or making contact with you in relation to your correspondence with us, e.g: you have submitted a form to us via our contact function.

  • You are entitled to access the personal information we hold on you. Email your subject access request to and we will respond to your request within 1 month.

  • We will hold your data for book keeping purposes unless otherwise instructed. 

  • We may update this privacy notice from time to time under regular review, and we are not under obligation to contact you every time it is updated. It will always be accessible on our website under 'The Fine Print' page.


  • The designs seen here belong to The Sewing Alchemist unless otherwise stated. They are for personal use only and not for copy, resale or personal gain. 

  • No part of this website or its contents including patterns and designs may be reproduced, stored or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical or otherwise, without the prior permission of The Sewing Alchemist.

  • Action will be taken against those who are deemed to have copied or stolen artwork, designs or patterns from The Sewing Alchemist.
